The Himalayas is the highest mountain range in the world, and has 10 out of 14 of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest. These mountains, referred to as the Third Pole, are the source of some of Asia's major rivers and also help to regulate our planet's climate.

4.Lhotse (South Peak), 8,516m, Nepal-China, Part of Everest massif.
5.Makalu (The Great Black), 8,485m, Nepal-China. East of Mt. Everest.
6.Cho Oyu (Turquoise Goddess), 8,281m, Nepal-China. Easiest 8000m peak.
7.Dhaulagiri I (White Mountain), 8,176m, Nepal. West of Gandaki River.
8.Manaslu (Kutang, Mountain of the Spirit, Killer Mountain), 8,163m, Nepal.
9.Nanga Parbat (Diamir, "Naked Mountain" ), 8,126m, Pakistan. Westernmost peak of Himalayas, rises 7000m above Indus River.
